Women in Security & Defence: Building Resilient Democracies
On March 7th, I had a pleasure and honor to take part in the EU-organized event in Seoul – "Towards More Resilient and Secure Democracies: Women in Security and Defense."
During her speech, I highlighted key priorities:
Changing attitudes & fostering inclusion – Empowering women starts with reshaping self-perception and workplace culture.
From commitments to action – The Women, Peace & Security (WPS) Agenda has a strong framework, but implementation is crucial.
Collaboration is key – Achieving WPS goals requires government & society partnerships with shared responsibilities.
Latvia’s leadership – Our country is committed to empowering women through real action & best practices. We are ready to share our expertise and work together globally.
A huge thank you to Ambassador Jānis Bērziņš and his excellent team at the Embassy of Latvia to Korea, as well as the EU Representation in Korea, for their outstanding organization and support during the event "Towards More Resilient and Secure Democracies: Women in Security and Defense" in Seoul on March 7th.
Your dedication and efforts in fostering important discussions on security, resilience, and gender equality are truly commendable. Together, we make a difference!
Let’s continue strengthening democracy, security, and gender equality together!
